Past Echoes

An organisation that has been at the forefront of the Australian music scene since 1997, Past Echoes is part of the new generation of Early Music specialists in Australia.  Programs of diverse provenance, periods and combinations of popular and unknown works have been integral in the accessibility and divergence of Past Echoes programs.  These elements have been crucial in leading to the group’s success, as is the development of our Composers in residence program.

Past Echoes continues to present performances to provide opportunities for Australian musicians, both established and emerging, and to bring joy and knowledge to the Australian Community.  We believe that the role of the arts is integral to the development of community life and are excited to be involved in this process.

Featured regularly in concert series and festivals across Australia, Past Echoes’ creativity and excellence capture a broad range of audience.  Past Echoes continues to be recorded by 3MBS FM and ABC Classic FM, for their In Performance, New Releases and Young Australia programs.  Past Echoes also receives regular reviews in Victorian and National newspapers, maintaining a high profile and receiving sustained praise.  2007 marks our 10th anniversary.

Run by young dynamo, Louisa Hunter-Bradley, Past Echoes has seen the steady decline of chamber music festivals and performance opportunities within Melbourne over the last 10 years.  Determined not to let this continue, Past Echoes aims to revive the excitement, involvement and celebration that a festival inspires by presenting the inaugural Past Echoes Autumn Music Festival. Past Echoes will produce a successful chamber festival that will create, explore, inspire, educate and entertain the Australian Community.
